ICAR-CRRI Launches RKVY, Govt. of Odisha-Funded Project on Participating Climate Risk Management
ICAR–CRRI, Cuttack organized a launching workshop of the project “Participatory Climate Risk Management Using Abiotic Stress Resilient Varieties and Quality Seed Interventions” (EAP-449) on 19 June 2025. The project is funded by RKVY, Govt. of Odisha.
Dr. Sanghamitra Samantaray, Head, Crop Improvement Division, welcomed the participants. Dr. S.K. Dash, PI, outlined the project objectives, focusing on climate-resilient rice varieties and quality seed interventions. Dr. G.A.K. Kumar, Director, ICAR-CRRI, emphasized the need for participatory approaches to tackle climate challenges in rice farming.
The event witnessed the participation of 32 individuals, including Directors of Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs) from key project districts such as Balasore, Bhadrak, Dhenkanal, Mahanga, and Niali (Cuttack), who are the primary stakeholders and beneficiaries of the initiative.
Dr. Sudipta Paul coordinated the workshop, and Dr. Rashmi Raj proposed the formal vote of thanks.
This workshop marked the formal initiation of the project and laid a strong foundation for collaborative climate-resilient interventions in rice farming across Odisha.
