Brainstorming Session on Developing Biofertilizer Model Village under Project Jaiva-Poshak
ICAR-CRRI, Cuttack organized a brainstorming session on 18 June 2025 to finalize key indicators for establishing a Biofertilizer Model Village under the Jaiva-Poshak Project (EAP-416). The session was chaired by Dr. G.A.K. Kumar, Director, ICAR-CRRI, and led by Dr. Sudipta Paul. Dr. Upendra Kumar briefed the background of the initiative.
Experts including Dr. S.K. Mishra (PS, ICAR-IIWM), Dr. P. Srinivas (PS, ICAR-CHES), Sri L.K. Palatasingh (Former DDA, Kalahandi), and Dr. Ranjan Mahanta (Head, KVK Cuttack). proposed village selection criteria. Co-PIs, Dr. Annie Poonam, Dr. P. Panneerselvam, Dr. A.K. Mukherjee, Dr. B. Mondal, and Dr. D. Chatterjee contributed intervention strategies and activities.
Assessment indicators were suggested by Sri Jagat Singh (RCONF), Sri Prabhakar Adhikari (Pragati NGO), and Dr. Subhasish Bal (Progressive Farmer), who joined virtually. Dr. Pratap Bhattacharyya, Head, Crop Production Division, concluded the session by summarizing the key outcomes.
This collaborative session laid the foundation for a sustainable, farmer-driven biofertilizer model village.
