Training program under the innovative project “Production, Popularisation & supply of quality bioinoculants in rice-based cropping & farming system of Odisha (Jaiva Poshak) ![]()
Training program to Farmer Producer Companies on CRRI biofertilizers was organised at Rajmal village, Kolabira block, Jharsuguda Dist. on 26.06.26 under the innovative project “Production, Popularisation & supply of quality bioinoculants in rice-based cropping & farming system of Odisha (Jaiva Poshak) funded by state Govt. of Odisha. This program also formed the integral component of “Mera Gaon Mera Gourav” program of ICAR & DAFE, New Delhi with the theme on balanced use of fertilizers. This program was organised in association with Social Education for Womens Awareness (SEWA). This program was coordinated by Dr. Biswajit Mondal, Principal Scientist. He delivered on the importance of economic & environmental prospects of Biofertilizers. Dr. Sudipta Paul, Senior Scientist explained about the importance of NRRR-Endo N, which can substitute Nitrogen requirement by 25%. Dr. Raghavendra Goud, Scientist has emphasized on the necessity to switch over from harmful chemical fertilizers to eco friendly Biofertilizers & recommend the methods to be adopted by farmers in Science based Natural Farming with balanced use of fertilizers. Dr. Samir Ranjan Dash, Head, KVK Jharsuguda has explained about agriculture practices of Kolabira block & the necessity to minimise chemical fertilizers & replace them with chemical fertilizers. Dr. Anuj Kumar Rai, Scientist, KVK Jharsuguda has explained the importance of quality seeds to improve production & prospects of Azolla as Biofertilizer. Dr. Sai Krishna Repalli, Research Associate has demonstrated the applications of Trichoderma as biostimulant & NRRI Tech Decomposer for decomposition of rice straw. This program was facilitated by project staff & Technician Sri Amit Kumar Maity & moderated by Sri Ravindra Behera of SEWA. Around 55 farmers of Janghalinga Mahila Farmers Producer Company Limited including 34 female & 21 male along with project staff of SEWA are benefited from this program. There was interaction between farmers & scientists on the effective application of CRRI Biofertilizers in rice & vegetable crops.
