Inauguration of Rice Health Clinic at ICAR-CRRI, Cuttack

The Rice Health Clinic of the Crop Protection Division, ICAR–Central Rice Research Institute (ICAR-CRRI), Cuttack, commenced its regular diagnostic and advisory services on 1 July 2026.
The clinic was inaugurated by Dr. G.A.K. Kumar, Director, ICAR-CRRI, Cuttack, in the presence of Dr. S.D. Mohapatra, Head, Crop Protection Division, along with all Heads of Divisions, Senior Administrative Officer, Senior Finance & Accounts Officer, and all staff of the Crop Protection Division.
The clinic is established to provide timely, reliable, and expert support for rice crop health, the clinic offers scientific diagnosis of insect pests, diseases, nematodes, and nutrient deficiency symptoms through field observations and, wherever required, laboratory-based analyses. It also provides expert recommendations on the safe and judicious use of pesticides, biological control options, and integrated crop management practices.
The clinic serves farmers, extension personnel, researchers, students, and other stakeholders by providing technical guidance for the accurate identification and effective management of rice health problems. To facilitate precise diagnosis, stakeholders are encouraged to bring representative plant samples along with relevant field information, including the crop variety, crop stage, location, and photographs, wherever available.
Through these services, the Rice Health Clinic aims to improve rice productivity, promote sustainable crop protection practices, and strengthen the dissemination of scientific knowledge to the farming community.
