Accelerating Biofertilizer Deployment and Peer-Led Extension for Sustainable Agriculture in Bhadrak ![]()
Farmer Field School (FFS) program focusing on CRRI Biofertilizer applications was successfully conducted on October 14, 2026, at Binjha village within the Bonth block of Bhadrak district. The interactive session brought together 52 local agriculturalists, including 44 men and 8 women, to promote eco-friendly farming practices and optimize production. Executed under the state-funded project “Production, Popularisation & Supply of Quality Bioinoculants in Rice-Based Cropping & Farming System of Odisha” (Jaiva Poshak), this institutional event was organized in close collaboration with the Innovative Mission Farmer Producer Company Limited (IMFPCL) to enhance soil biological health across the region.
The technical training modules were directed by Dr. Sai Krishna Repalli, Research Associate, who educated the participants on the targeted field applications and management advantages of advanced bio-innovations. Dr. Repalli focused extensively on the deployment of NRRI Endo N, NRRI Endo NPK, Rhizobium, PSB, Trichoderma, Azolla, and Tech NRRI Decomposer, demonstrating how these modern tools actively minimize input costs, supply natural crop protection against disease vectors, and revitalize exhausted soils by replacing synthetic chemical inputs. Translating this research into field practice, Mr. Amit Kumar Maity, Technician, spearheaded the live agricultural demonstrations, walking the attendees through the exact, step-by-step methodologies required to integrate these bioinoculants into local cropping systems.
On-site program coordination, community engagement, and technical logistics were facilitated by Ms. Simran Mishra and Mr. Dilip Kumar Bhoi, project staff members of the Jaiva Poshak project. The institutional dialogue and field interactions were moderated by Sri Bhaskar Rout and Sri Subhas Chandra of IMFPCL, ensuring a productive exchange between the scientific community and local stakeholders. This field training marks a vital initial milestone for regional agricultural extension by laying the operational groundwork for a master-trainer framework. Equipped with specialized knowledge on balanced fertilizer allocation, the participating farmers are now prepared to act as localized peer educators, driving knowledge transfer to adjacent clusters to build a self-sustaining, chemical-free farming ecosystem throughout Bhadrak.
