Training program on “Vermicompost Preparation, Application and Benefits for Sustainable Crop Production” was organized on 25th September 2026 at ICAR-CRRI 
A farmers’ training program on “Vermicompost Preparation, Application and Benefits for Sustainable Crop Production” was organized on 25th September 2026 at ICAR-CRRI, Cuttack. A total of 71 farmers from Ranjhalli and Paliama village of Ganjam and Rajualibindha village of Bhadrak attended the meeting. Farmers were imparted training on the standard method of vermicompost preparation proper bedding material selection, earthworm species management, moisture maintenance, and nutrient recycling from farm waste. They were also guided on the recommended dosage, timings and method of vermicompost application in field crops and vegetables to enhance soil health and crop productivity while reducing excessive chemical fertilizer dependency. Vermicompost beds, training materials were distributed to the farmers. A practical demonstration on bed layering and compost harvesting were also conducted at vermicompost unit of ICAR-CRRI.
