Training program on implementation of Biofertilizer Model village

Training program on implementation of Biofertilizer Model village was organized on 15.05.26 at Wuapalli village, Niali block, Cuttack district by ICAR-CRRI, Cuttack under the innovative project “Production, Popularization and Supply of Quality Bioinoculants for Rice-based Cropping and Farming System of Odisha” & Mera Gaon Mera Gourav (MGMG) program of ICAR & DAFE, New Delhi. The objective of the program was to improve awareness among farmers regarding harmful effects of chemical fertilizers and pesticides and their replacement using biofertilizers and biopesticides. About 40 progressive farmers has attended this program. This program was organised in collaboration with Rajendra Deshi Chasa Gabesana Kendra, Niali, Cuttack.
This program was directed by Dr. Upendra Kumar, Dr. Biswajit Mondal & Coordinated by Dr. Annie Poonam. There were discussions on prospects of biofertilizers on environmental & economic stability, crop diversification, pathogen suppression, grain & nutritional quantity, demonstrations by Dr. B Mondal, Dr. Annie Poonam, Dr. Srikant Lenka, Dr. Manas Kumar Bag, Dr. Nabaneeta Basak & Dr. Sai Krishna Repalli respectively. Sri Dibya Ranjan Majhi, AAO, Niali has emphasized on the agricultural scenario of the block and wished the outcomes of this program will benefit the farmers.
