International Yoga Day-2025

ICAR-Central Rice Research Institute, Cuttack celebrated the 11th International Yoga Day (IYD) on 21 June 2025 with the aim of promoting yoga as a holistic way of life among its staff and students. The Yoga Sangam was chaired by Director, ICAR-CRRI, Cuttack Dr. G.A.K. Kumar and addressed by chief guest Mr. Anupam Lahiri, Deputy Director General, National Sample Survey Office (NSSO), Bhubaneswar. Dr. S.K. Dash extended a warm welcome to all the participants. The event focused on safeguarding the health and well-being of the institute’s community. A trained yoga expert practiced Yoga, Aasanas and Pranayam following Common Yoga Protocol (CYP) issued by the Ministry of Ayush, Government of India. Dr. S.K. Dash, Chairman, International Yoga Day Committee, briefed the participants about the yoga day programme and its theme. The Director of ICAR-CRRI, Dr. G.A.K. Kumar, delivered the concluding remarks, emphasizing the importance of incorporating yoga and meditation into daily life to enhance physical and mental wellness. Ms. Jayanti Bhoi, a certified Yoga instructor from Patanjali, skillfully led the session, guiding the participants through various techniques aimed at improving immunity and reducing stress and anxiety. Staff members and students of ICAR-CRRI actively participated in this programme to make it a successful event.
