Organization of “Swachhata Hi Seva-2025 with the theme Swachhotsav” at ICAR-CRRI, Cuttack from 17.09.2025 to 2.10.2025

As per correspondence received from Secretary, DARE & DG, ICAR, New Delhi ICAR-CRRI, Cuttack organized successfully “Swachhata Hi Seva-2025 with the theme “Swachhotsav” from 17.09.2025-2.10.2025 and during this period different Swachhata activities on daily basis were organized.
In the very first day i.e on 17.09.2025 at 11.00 AM under the activity “National Launch of Swachhata Hi Seva 2025”, banners were displayed at prominent places of the Institute. Director of the Institute, Dr.GAK Kumar administered “Swachhata Pledge” to all the staff members of the Main Institute and Regional Stations/KVKs (through virtual mode). He instructed all the presentees to act upon accordingly throughout the whole period with active involvement for successful organization of this National event.
On the same day at 01.30PM, a large number of staff members of our Institute along with its Regional Stations/KVKs were present in which Secretary, DARE & DG, ICAR Dr. Mangi Lal Jat administered Swachhata pledge to the staff members of all ICAR Institutes through video conferencing.
On 18.09.2025 at 4.00PM, a part activity “Identification of Black spots-generally neglected garbage points being difficult to clean” was conducted in two spots i.e in the premises of Electric transformer site nearer to Kanheipur Gate and another one in Subhas Bose Residential Colony of the Institute. These areas were found abandoned and observed as frequent dumping sites for garbages and thus identified as black spots being difficult to keep neat and clean. The Institute Swachha Bharat committee members and other staff members of the Institute identified these neglected garbage points/black spots and carried out the cleaning activities.
On 19.09.2025 at 11.00 AM, Swachhata activity on “Slogan writing competitions at school (Odia, Hindi, English)” wasorganized in CRRI Government High School among the students of Std. VIII to Std. X. The selected winners from their writing on different slogans on “Swachha Bharat Mission and its objectives” are being awarded today. Mr. Abhaya Kumar Dixit, Headmaster; Mrs.Sagarika Mohanty, Asst. Teacher and other teachers of the School assisted in successful organization of today’s event.
On 20.09.2025, Swachhata activity on “Organization of Waste to Art (Initiative to raise awareness and promote best practices in cleanliness and hygiene)” was organized in CRRI Government Nodal High School among the students of Std. VI to Std. VIII (Junior category). The students had prepared different beautiful items from their household waste which were showcased in front of the Institute Swachha Committee members and School teachers.
On 21.09.2025, a preventive health check-up was organized for “Safai Mitras” in the Dispensary of the institute. During the health check-up program, the importance of preventive health check-up was narrated to them. The activity was coordinated by Mr. A. K. Nayak, Pharmacist, CRRI Dispensary &, Institute Swachha Bharat Committee members led by Dr.N.N.Jambhulkar, Nodal Officer, SHS-2025.
On 22.09.2025, Swachhata activity on “Symbolic human chain” was undertaken to create awareness and demonstrate commitment to cleanliness and sanitation. On this occasion a Swachhata rally was organized which started from the front of Main Institute Building with participation of Institute Swachha Committee members and other staff members. During Swachhata rally, message on “Objective of organization of Swachhata Hi Seva 2025 along with neat and cleanness of the environment” was spread to the common people.
On 23.09.2025, Swachhata activity on ““Carrying out cleaning activities in office and institutional premises”” was undertaken in the “Plantation site of CRRI Dispensary” with participation of Institute Swachha Committee members and other staff members including Dispensary staff and workers. Grasses and herbs were removed, the sites were cleaned properly.
On 24.09.2025, Swachhata activity on “Cleaning drive in religious and spiritual places” was undertaken in “Premises of Lord Sarbeswar Temple, CRRI, Cuttack” with participation of Institute Swachha Committee members, other staff members and Temple Committee members. Grasses, herbs and other unwanted materials were removed, the temple premises were cleaned properly.
On 25.09.2025, Swachhata activity on “Organization of Ek Din, Ek Ghanta, Ek Saath – Nationwide Shramdan” was undertaken in the “Premises of Institute Vermi-compost Unit” with active participation of Mr. Ganesh Kumar, SAO; Mr.R.K.Singh, Sr. FAO, Institute Swachha Committee members and other staff members. Grasses, herbs and other unwanted materials were removed, premises of the Vermi-compost Unit were cleaned properly.
Also, “Special Cleanliness Drive- Shramdan along with plantation drive’” was conducted in the office premises of its Regional Station, CRURRS, Hazaribag on this day. Dr.N.P.Mondal, Head along with scientists, other staff members and contractual staff/students/project staff actively participated in the programme. The collected waste was safely disposed the designated site.
On 26.09.2025, Swachhata activity on “Best innovation under Swachh Bharat Mision (SBM)-Cultural Fests: Recognition of the most unique and inspiring initiatives undertaken by local bodies to integrate citizens with Swachhata, local art, music & culture” was organized. On this occasion the message of Swachhata was transmitted/spread through a “Swachhata song in odia language on Swachha bharat mo, swachh bharat mo….” sung by Dr. S. Lenka, Chairman, Institute Swachha Bharat Committee to the farmers coming from from Rahamba village, Kantapada Block of Cuttack district to our Institute for attending one training programme. Two progressive farmers Mr.Bairagi Mallick and Nr. Abhaya Kumar Mallick of Rahamba village expressed their views from this occasion that they will maintain neat and cleanliness of their households, farms and village along with motivation to others.
On 27.09.2025, Swachhata activity on “Organization of Waste to Art (Initiative to raise awareness and promote best practices in cleanliness and hygiene)” was accomplished in CRRI Government High School among the students of Std.IX and Std.X, Senior Category). The students had prepared different beautiful items from their household wastes which were showcased in front of the Institute Swachha Committee members and School Headmaster & other associated teachers.
On 28.09.2025, Swachhata activity on “Facilitation of access to health services to SafaiMitras” was undertaken in the “Premises of CRRI Dispensary” with participatio of Safai Mitras, members of Institute Swachha Committee and other staff members. In this activity, the facilities available in the institute were explained to the Safai Mitras.
On 29.09.2025, Swachhata activity on “Distribution of Safety gears to Safai Mitras” was undertaken in the “Premises of CRRI Dispensary” with participation of Safai Mitras, members of Institute Swachha Bharat Committee and other staff members. In the activity, masks and hand gloves were distributed to the Safai Mitras.
On 30.09.2025, Swachhata activity on “Facilitation of registration and linkage of sanitation workers to social welfare schemes” by ICAR-CRRI, Cuttack was undertaken with participation of sanitation workers, members of Institute Swachha Committee and other staff members. On this occasion, different social welfare schemes of the State and Central Government schemes were explained to the sanitation workers for the awareness and welbeing of the sanitation workers.
On 1.10.2025, Swachhata activity on “Involvement of religious leaders in cleanliness drives at religious places (to promote community participation in swachhata initiative)” was undertaken in “Premises of Lord Sarbeswar Temple, CRRI, Cuttack” with participation of Institute Swachha Committee members, other staff members, Head Priest of the Sarbeswar Temple and Trusty members. Grasses, herbs and other unwanted materials were removed, the temple premises were cleaned properly. The Head Priest expressed his satisfaction by this auspicious swachhata drive undertaken inside the temple and requested all the presentees there including devotees coming to the temple to continue this type of activity in other religious places also.
On 02.10.2025, valedictory program of Swachhata Hi Seva-2025 was organized in presence of Dr. B. Mondal, Director (I/c), ICAR-CRRI; Mr. Dixit, Headmaster, CRRI School; Dr. S. Lenka, Chairman, ISBC; Dr. N. N. Jambhulkar, Nodal Officer, Swachhata Hi Seva 2025. Certificates were distributed to the award winners of different competitions; Safai Mitras were felicitated also. Dr. S. Lenka, Chairman, ISBC narrated different activities conducted during the period. Dr. B. Mondal, Director (I/c) enlightened the importance of such activities for the Institute and being beneficial to human health. The program was moderated by Dr. N. N. Jambhulkar, Nodal Officer, Swachhata Hi Seva – 2025.
