ICAR-CRRI, Cuttack Hosts Live Streaming of Hon’ble PM Modi’s Launch of Major Agricultural Initiatives

ICAR–Central Rice Research Institute (CRRI), Cuttack organized the live streaming of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s launch of two landmark agricultural initiatives – the Pradhan Mantri Dhan-Dhaanya Krishi Yojana and the Self-Reliance in Pulses Mission on October 11, 2025. Altogether 465 farmers and farmwomen (male-249; female-216) from Scheduled Caste Sub Plan (SCSP) adopted villages of Cuttack and Khordha districts enthusiastically participated in the programme at MKCG Auditorium of ICAR-CRRI, Cuttack campus.
These new initiatives are aimed at transforming India’s agriculture by enhancing crop productivity, expanding irrigation coverage, improving access to both short- and long-term agricultural credit, and reducing import dependence through increased domestic production. The Prime Minister also launched and laid the foundation stone for more than 1,100 projects in agriculture and allied sectors, worth over ₹42,000 crore. During the event, Shri Modi interacted with progressive farmers practicing natural farming and recognized outstanding contributions of farmers, FPOs, and cooperatives.
The event coincided with the birth anniversary of Loknayak Jayaprakash Narayan and the beginning of the Rabi sowing season, symbolizing a renewed commitment to strengthen the farming sector and achieve self-reliance in food and nutrition security. The live streaming at ICAR-CRRI, Cuttack served as an inspiring platform for farmers to witness the government’s vision for a prosperous, sustainable, and self-reliant agricultural future.
