Scientific Advisory Committee (SAC) Meeting Organized at KVK, Koderma ![]()
The Scientific Advisory Committee (SAC) Meeting of Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Koderma was successfully conducted on 21 April 2026 under the guidance of ICAR–Central Rice Research Institute (CRRI), Cuttack, Odisha. The meeting was successfully conducted under the chairmanship of Dr. Shiv Mangal Prasad (Director Nominee), Principal Scientist, ICAR-CRURRS, Hazaribagh, with Dr. Awani Kumar Singh, Head, FSRC-HRP, Plandu, Ranchi, as the Chief Guest.
Dr. A.K. Rai, Head and Senior Scientist, KVK Koderma, delivered the welcome address and presented a brief overview of KVK activities, highlighting major achievements and ongoing extension programmes. On this occasion, the INM (Integrated Nutrient Management) Bulletin Booklet was also inaugurated, highlighting recommended nutrient management practices for farmers. The Annual Report (2025–2026) and Annual Action Plan (2026–27) were presented, focusing on district-specific interventions aimed at enhancing agricultural productivity, income generation, and livelihood security of farmers.
The meeting witnessed the participation of distinguished members including Dr. Niranjan Lal, Assistant Director Extension, BAU, Ranchi; Area Manager, NSC Ranchi; District Forest Officer; District Agriculture Officer; District Animal Husbandry Officer; District Horticulture Officer; District Fisheries Officer; DDM, NABARD; LDM, Koderma; representatives from NGO Srijan Mahila Vikas Manch, Koderma; Dr. Chanchila Kumari (SMS, Home Science), Dr. Bhoopendra Singh (SMS, Horticulture), Vinay Kumar (SMS, Agricultural Extension), Nupur Choudhary (SMS, Plant Pathology), Debrup Ghosh (SMS, Soil Science), and Manish Kumar (STO) and progressive farmers of the district, among others.
During the interaction session, progressive farmers shared their experiences and field-level issues. The SAC members and scientists provided valuable suggestions to improve the effectiveness of extension activities and ensure better adoption of recommended technologies. The committee deliberated on strategies for the effective implementation of KVK activities, strengthening linkages among research, extension, and farmers, and addressing location-specific agricultural challenges of the district.
