Field Day cum training program for Integrated Farming Systems (IFS) & Progressive Farmers on adaptation of CRRI Biofertilizer model at Ganjam district on 08.05.2025

“Field Day cum training program for Integrated Farming Systems (IFS) & Progressive Farmers on adaptation of CRRI Biofertilizer model” was organised at Gobinda Nagar, Chikiti block, Ganjam district on 08.05.2025 under the innovative project “Production, Popularization and Supply of Quality Bioinoculants in Rice Based Cropping and Farming System in Odisha”-Jaivaposhak (ଜୈବ-ପୋଷକ) funded by DAFE, Govt. of Odisha. Dr. Upendra Kumar, Senior Scientist of CRRI, is the Principal Investigator of this project. Dr. Sujit Kumar Nath, Senior Scientist & Head KVK Ganjam, Sri Suresh Chandra Mallick, District Agriculture Officer & Sri Prakash Behera, Block Agriculture Officer from Chikiti block, Ganjam district, were the resource persons in this program. Dr. SK Nath has explained the importance and application of Trichoderma in pulses and vegetable crops. Sri SC Mallick emphasized the prospects of different horticulture crops that can be grown in the Integrated Farming System. Sri PC Behera, focused on different sources to improve the farmers’ income through IFS. Sri Brundaban Das, Senior Technical Officer, stressed on the necessity for the application of biofertilizers in IFS to decrease the input costs on cultivation for sustainable soil and environmental health. Applications of CRRI products Endo N, Endo NPK & Tech Decomposer along with Azolla were demonstrated by Dr. Sai Krishna Repalli, Research Associate of the project. This program was facilitated by the project staff. A total of 43 participants comprising of 25 farmers and 18 farm women participated and benefited from this program. This program was organised in collaboration with Sophitorium Group of Institutions (The Knowledge Centre) and Solidarity for Developing Communities (SOLID).
