ICAR-CRRI Strengthens Technology Commercialization through 19 MoUs on ICAR’s 98th Foundation Day

On the occasion of the 98th Foundation Day of the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), celebrated on 16 July 2026, ICAR-Central Rice Research Institute (ICAR-CRRI), Cuttack organized a MoU Exchange Programme for the Commercialization of Technologies coinciding with the live telecast of the Foundation Day celebrations. Dr. G. A. K. Kumar, Director, ICAR-CRRI, Cuttack, graciously attended the MoU Exchange Programme along with the scientists, officers, and staff of the Institute.
The programme underscored ICAR-CRRI’s unwavering commitment to promoting the commercialization of agricultural innovations and strengthening industry partnerships for the large-scale dissemination of improved rice varieties and proven technologies developed by the Institute.
A total of Nineteen Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) were exchanged with leading Private Companies/Firm for the commercialization of ICAR-CRRI technologies and rice varieties.
Three seed companies—M/s Mangal Murti Seeds Pvt. Ltd., M/s Bhagyalakshmi Seeds, and M/s Jay Koksara Organic Farmers Producer Company Limited—entered into MoUs for the commercialization of several high-yielding and climate-resilient rice varieties developed by ICAR-CRRI. These include Pooja, CR Dhan 319, Dharitri, Gayatri, Heera, Sarumani (CR Dhan 210), Phalguni, CR Dhan 318, CR Dhan 306, CR Dhan 704, Improved Lalat, Geetanjali, CR Dhan 316, CR Dhan 327, CR Dhan 701, and CR Dhan 410.
In addition, M/s Prakrutik Krishi Vikash Udyog Pvt. Ltd. and M/s RM Agrico Pvt. Ltd. signed MoUs for the commercialization of the Institute’s innovative technologies, namely the Microbial Consortium and CR Composter respectively, which are expected to promote sustainable and eco-friendly agricultural practices.
The programme also marked a significant achievement in the Institute’s technology commercialization efforts, generating a total licensing revenue of ₹6,40,000 through the execution of these MoUs, further reflecting the growing industry confidence in ICAR-CRRI’s research and innovation ecosystem.
