MoU Signed for collaborative research on Fly ash utilization in Odisha
A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed on 15th September, 2025 in the august presence of Shri Kambhampati Hari Babu, the Hon’ble Governor of Odisha among the State Pollution Control Board, Odisha; ICAR–Central Rice Research Institute (CRRI), Cuttack; Odisha University of Agriculture & Technology (OUAT), Bhubaneswar; and the Department of Biotechnology & Bioinformatics, Sambalpur University.
Under this MoU, the partners agreed to jointly implement research projects focused on the sustainable management of fly ash, an industrial by-product, by employing integrated solutions. The projects aim to develop scalable methods for stabilizing heavy metals present in fly ash-amended soils and transforming fly ash into environmentally safe amendments, thus promoting both environmental safety and agricultural productivity.
The agreement establishes a collaborative framework for sharing scientific expertise, and conducting joint research, with the goal of addressing the dual challenges of industrial waste management and soil health restoration in Odisha.
