Visit of Honourable QRT Members to Central Rainfed Upland Rice Research Station (CRURRS), Hazaribag
Honourable QRT members, Dr. A.R. Sharma, Former Director Research, RLBCAU, Jhansi; and Dr. P. V. Satyanarayan, Director Research, ANGRAU, Andhra Pradesh along with Dr. P. Bhattacharya, Head, CPD and Dr. B. Mondal, Principal Scientist & I/c PME Cell from ICAR-CRRI, Cuttack visited ICAR–CRRI-CRURRS, Hazaribag on 22 October 2025. The programme commenced with a warm welcome address by Dr. N.P. Mandal, Head, CRURRS followed by a brief presentation on achievements and ongoing activities of the station for last five years. Honourable QRT members interacted with all the scientists of the stations and appreciated the ongoing research activities and suggested new research initiatives on export-oriented crop, rice-based cropping system, strengthening DSR and farm mechanization. Later, the QRT members visited experimental fields, various laboratories of the station to review the research facilities. All the dignitaries planted saplings at CRURRS campus. The same day they also visited farmer’s field at Charhi, Hazaribag. On 23 October 2025 the team visited ICAR-IARI, Jharkhand, visited experimental fields and interacted with faculties. Later, they proceeded to KVK, Koderma and interacted with scientist as well as visited their fields. The team also visited farmer’s field and addressed the farmers during a Kisan Gosthi organized at the village. On 24 October 2025 the team visited ICAR-IIAB, Ranchi and ICAR-NISA, Ranchi, visited laboratories and facilities and interacted with the scientific staffs for possible collaborations in academic and research activities.
