Improving Bioinoculant Supply Chains: Capacity Building for Fertilizer Dealers from Jharsuguda and Bargarh Districts ![]()
To improve the Bioinoculant supply chain for quality bioinoculants, One-day training programmes on “Developing a Model Supply Chain for CRRI-Quality Bioinoculants” were organised for registered fertiliser dealers from Jharsuguda and Bargarh districts on 6 and 9 February, respectively, by ICAR–CRRI, Cuttack.
Key sessions covered CRRI biofertilizers ENDO N, ENDO NPK, Trichoderma, Tech Decomposer, and commercialization guidelines, delivered by experts including Dr. Upendra Kumar, Dr. AK Mukherjee, Dr. Panneerselvam, Dr. Sai Krishna Repalli, and Shri Munael Mohanty.
The programmes were conducted under the guidance of Dr. Upendra Kumar (Course Director), Dr. A. K. Mukherjee, and Dr. Sudipta Paul (Course Co-Directors), to strengthen the supply chain for CRRI biofertilizers and decomposers across Odisha.
Altogether, 74 fertilizer dealers & FPCs with fertilizer licence participated enthusiastically in the programmes across both districts and expressed keen interest in partnering with ICAR-CRRI for marketing CRRI bio-products. Dr Panneerselvam, Co-PI of the project, has emphasised the important role of fertiliser dealers in building a robust supply chain to reach CRRI biofertilizers to the farming community.
The training programmes were conducted under the ‘Jaiva-Poshak’ Project of DAFE, Government of Odisha, the programme aimed to promote sustainable farming by reducing dependence on chemical fertilizers and improving soil health in rice-based systems. ICAR-CRRI continues to strengthen farmer outreach by empowering dealers as key partners in delivering eco-friendly agricultural inputs.
