ICAR-CRRI Empowers Fertilizer Dealers in Bhadrak and Koraput districts to Boost Biofertilizer Availability ![]()
In a move to enhance the distribution network for high-quality bioinoculants, the ICAR-Central Rice Research Institute (CRRI), Cuttack, organized one-day training workshops titled “Developing a Model Supply Chain for CRRI-Quality Bioinoculants” for registered fertilizer dealers from Koraput and Bhadrak districts on 4th & 5th February, respectively, drawing enthusiastic participation from a total of 60 dealers across the two districts.
Experts from ICAR-CRRI led the training, covering key biofertilizer products such as ENDO N, ENDO NPK, Trichoderma, and Tech Decomposer along with essential guidelines on commercialization. Resource persons included Dr. Upendra Kumar, Dr. Pratap Bhattacharyya, Dr. Manas Kumar Bag, Dr. Sai Krishna Repalli, and Shri Munael Mohanty.
The programs were led by Dr. Upendra Kumar as Course Director, with Dr. A. K. Mukherjee and Dr. Sudipta Paul serving as Course Co-Directors. The initiative focused on building a stronger statewide supply chain for CRRI’s biofertilizers and decomposers in Odisha.
Participating dealers showed strong interest in collaborating with ICAR-CRRI to market these bio-products. Dr. G.A.K. Kumar, Director of ICAR-CRRI, highlighted the vital role fertilizer dealers play in establishing an efficient distribution system to deliver these sustainable inputs directly to farmers.
These workshops were held as part of the ‘Jaiva-Poshak’ Project, funded by the Department of Agriculture and Farmers’ Empowerment (DAFE), Government of Odisha. The broader goal is to advance eco-friendly agriculture by cutting reliance on chemical fertilizers, enhancing soil health, and supporting sustainable practices in rice-based cropping systems.
Through such efforts, ICAR-CRRI continues to bridge the gap between research and farmers by positioning fertilizer dealers as trusted partners in promoting greener, more resilient farming solutions across the state.
