Field Day cum Training on IFS & CRRI Biofertilizer Model at Koraput
A “Field Day cum Training Programme on Integrated Farming Systems (IFS) and adoption of CRRI Biofertilizer Model” was organized on 05 August 2025 at Ekamba village, Kotpad block, Koraput district under the Jaiva-Poshak (ଜୈବ-ପୋଷକ) project, funded by DAFE, Govt. of Odisha. Dr. Upendra Kumar, Senior Scientist, CRRI and Principal Investigator, explained the application of CRRI products like Endo N, Endo NPK, Tech Decomposer, and Azolla. Dr. Sudipta Paul outlined the project objectives, while Dr. Biswajit Mondal highlighted the economic and environmental benefits of biofertilizers. Dr. A.K. Mukherjee discussed Trichoderma use in pulses and vegetables, and Dr. Annie Poonam spoke on integrated farming systems. Dr. Biswanath Sahoo, Head, KVK, Koraput, stressed on holistic approaches with cash crops, dairy, and poultry, while Dr. Sunita Dandasena highlighted crop nutrient management under climate change. Sri Bijay Kumar Mahanta, AHO, emphasized revenue generation through horticulture and tuber crops. Dr. Ansuman Pattnayak (Pragati) guided on biofertilizer application, and Dr. Sai Krishna Repalli, Research Associate demonstrated its practical use. The event was moderated by Smt. Luna Panda (Executive Director, Pragati) and facilitated by Amit Maity and project staff. A total of 44 farmers (38 women, 6 men) participated and benefitted from the programme through active discussions with scientists.
