Empowering FPO Leaders: Capacity Building Training under E-CHASI at ICAR-CRRI
On 15th and 16th July 2025, two one-day training programmes on “Capacity Building of Board of Directors (BoDs) of FPOs” were organized at ICAR-CRRI, Cuttack under the E-CHASI project. A total of 39 participants from Green Rayat Mitra FPO, Ganjam, and 39 participants from Rajualibindha FPO, Bhadrak participated in the sessions, which focused on strengthening governance, business planning, financial management, enterprise development, value addition, and market linkages. The trainings were chaired by the Director, ICAR-CRRI, and featured experts including Dr. B. Mondal, Dr. S.D. Mohapatra, Dr. S. Mohanty, Dr. P.C. Jena and resource persons from CRRI and Odisha Integrated Irrigation Project for Climate Resilient Agriculture (OIIPCRA), who delivered insightful sessions on FPO governance, business models, and marketing strategies. Participants also interacted via video conferencing with successful FPOs to gain practical insights into real-world challenges and solutions. The interactive and practical sessions were highly appreciated by the participants and aimed to empower FPO leadership to strengthen farmer-led institutions and promote sustainable rural agribusiness development.
