Empowering Farmers through IFS & CRRI Biofertilizer Model – Field Day cum Training at Nabarangpur

A Field Day cum Training Programme on Integrated Farming Systems (IFS) and adoption of the CRRI Biofertilizer Model was organized on 02 August 2025 at Taragam village, Nabarangpur district under the Jaiva-Poshak (ଜୈବ-ପୋଷକ) project, funded by DAFE, Government of Odisha.
The programme was led by Dr. Upendra Kumar, Senior Scientist, CRRI and Principal Investigator, along with coordinators Dr. Biswajit Mondal and Dr. Sudipta Paul. Dr. Paul introduced the project objectives, while Dr. Kumar explained the use of CRRI products like Endo N, Endo NPK, Tech Decomposer, and Azolla. Dr. Mondal highlighted the economic and ecological benefits of biofertilizers.
A live field demonstration was conducted by Dr. Sai Krishna Repalli, Research Associate. The programme was facilitated by Mr. Amit Maity and other project staff.
A total of 59 farmers (44 men and 15 women) participated and interacted with scientists on the prospects and impact of using biofertilizers. The event was hosted at the IFS model farm of Irfan Khan, a progressive farmer.
