Field Day cum training program for Integrated Farming Systems (IFS) & Progressive Farmers on adoption of CRRI Biofertilizer model” was organized at Bargarh district on 03.09.2025
A Field Day-cum-Training Programme on Integrated Farming Systems (IFS) and Progressive Farmers for the adoption of the CRRI Biofertilizer model was organized on 3rd September 2025 at Bhuti Bahal village, Gaisilet block, Bargarh district under the innovative project Jaivaposhak (ଜୈବ-ପୋଷକ) funded by the Directorate of Agriculture and Food Production (DAFE), Govt. of Odisha. The event was jointly organized by ICAR-Central Rice Research Institute (CRRI) and the Ahinsa Club, Bhuti Bahal. Dr. Upendra Kumar, Senior Scientist, CRRI, and Principal Investigator of the project, conceived the programme and Co-Principal Investigators of the project namely, Dr. A.K. Mukherjee, Dr. Annie Poonam, and Dr. Biswajit Mondal attended as resource persons. Dr. Poonam highlighted integrated farming approaches for enhancing farmers’ income, Dr. Mukherjee explained the applications of Trichoderma in pulses and vegetables, while Dr. Mondal emphasized the economic and environmental benefits of biofertilizers. Demonstrations on CRRI biofertilizers including Endo-N, Tech-Decomposer, Trichoderma, and Azolla were conducted by Dr. Sai Krishna Repalli, Research Associate. The programme was coordinated by Sri Lalajee Jhankar, Member, Ahinsa Club, and facilitated by project staff from CRRI and Ahinsa Club. An interactive session enabled farmers and scientists to discuss the prospects and challenges of biofertilizer adoption. In total, around 49 farmers, including 18 women and 31 men, actively participated and benefited from the programme.
