Training Programme for FPO Members from Ganjam and Nabarangpur Districts on “Adoption of CRRI Biofertilizer Model”

A two-day training programme for members of Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs) from Ganjam and Nabarangpur districts on “Adoption of CRRI Biofertilizer Model” was organized at ICAR–CRRI, Cuttack from 13-14 August 2025 under the Jaiva Poshak Project, funded by the Government of Odisha.
The programme was inaugurated on August 13, 2025, by Dr. G.A.K. Kumar, Director, CRRI. Dr. Upendra Kumar (Course Director) outlined the objectives of the project, following which participants shared their plans and requirements from CRRI.
Technical sessions included discussions on the benefits of Trichoderma and Rhizobium applications in vegetables and pulses by Dr. A.K. Mukherjee and Dr. Annie Poonam (Co-PIs of the project), as well as the role of biofertilizers in Integrated Farming Systems. Dr. Dibyendu Chatterjee (Course Coordinator) delivered a session on soil testing.
The programme concluded on August 14, 2025, with presidential remarks from Dr. G.A.K. Kumar, who emphasized the role of FPOs as brand ambassadors for promoting the adoption of CRRI biofertilizers among the farming community.
A total of 46 participants, representing 16 FPCs from the two districts, attended the event. The participants included experts from the Mukhyamantri Makha Mission, Krushi Bhavan, Odisha, and an NGO from Ganjam district, along with FPC members.
