Training Programme for FPO Members from Bargarh and Jharsuguda Districts on “Adoption of CRRI Biofertilizer Model”

A two-day training programme for members of Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs) from Bargarh and Jharsuguda districts on “Adoption of CRRI Biofertilizer Model” was organized at ICAR–CRRI, Cuttack from 11–12 August 2025 under the Jaiva Poshak Project, funded by the Government of Odisha.
The programme was inaugurated on August 11, 2025, by Dr. G.A.K. Kumar, Director, CRRI. Dr. Upendra Kumar (Course Director & PI of the project) outlined the objectives of the programme, while participants shared their plans and requirements from CRRI.
Technical sessions covered the benefits of biofertilizers, including the application of Trichoderma and Rhizobium in vegetables and pulses. Dr. B. Mondal (Course Coordinator) discussed the economic benefits of adopting biofertilizers. Dr. A.K. Mukherjee and Dr. Annie Poonam (Co-PIs) also contributed to the technical deliberations.
The programme concluded on August 12, 2025 with the presentation of the course report by Dr. P. Panneerselvam (Course Coordinator) and presidential remarks by Dr. G.A.K. Kumar, highlighting the vital role of FPOs in promoting CRRI biofertilizers among farmers.
A total of thirty participants representing twelve FPCs from the two districts actively participated in the event, which aimed at enhancing adoption of sustainable agricultural practices through the CRRI Biofertilizer Model.
