Empowering Farmers through IFS & CRRI Biofertilizer Model – Field Day & Training at Jagatsinghpur
A Field Day cum training programme on “Integrated Farming Systems (IFS) & Adaptation of CRRI Biofertilizer Model” was conducted on 11 June 2025 at Mohammadabad village, Tirtol block, Jagatsinghpur district under the innovative project Jaivaposhak (ଜୈବ-ପୋଷକ), funded by DAFE, Govt. of Odisha. The event, organised at the IFS facility of progressive farmer Sri Asish Kumar Nayak, aimed to promote sustainable agricultural practices among farmers. Dr. Upendra Kumar, Principal Investigator of the project, and Dr. Annie Poonam, Programme Coordinator, led the initiative with support from resource persons Dr. Sasmita Purohit (KVK, Jagatsinghpur) and Sri Bibhudatta Sahoo (Agriculture District Officer, Tirtol). The programme featured detailed sessions on the role of biofertilizers in enhancing farm income and soil health, along with demonstrations of CRRI products like Endo N, Endo NPK, Tech Decomposer, and azolla by Dr. Sai Krishna Repalli. A total of 39 farmers (30 men and nine women) actively participated, engaging in fruitful discussions with scientists on the adoption and benefits of biofertilizers in IFS.
