CRRI Scientists Bag NAAS Fellow Award and Young Scientist Award

Two scientists from ICAR-Central Rice Research Institute (CRRI), Cuttack, have been recognized by the National Academy of Agricultural Sciences (NAAS), New Delhi, for their outstanding contributions to agricultural research.
Dr. Krishnendu Chattopadhyay, Principal Scientist has been elected Fellow of the National Academy of Agricultural Sciences (NAAS), New Delhi, in recognition of his over 25 years of impactful research in crop improvement. His contributions to nutritional security through the development of biofortified rice varieties and stress-tolerant cultivars like CR Dhan 414 and CR Dhan 412 have been pivotal for climate-resilient agriculture.
Dr. Milan Kumar Lal, Scientist (Senior Scale), has been awarded the NAAS Young Scientist Award 2025 for his pioneering work in plant physiology, particularly in enhancing the nutritional quality of starchy crops and developing stress mitigation strategies. Both scientists have significantly contributed to advancing sustainable and nutrition-sensitive agriculture in India.
