ICAR-CRRI, Cuttack Organized Four-Day Training Programme on \u201cGeneral Requirements for the Competence of Testing and Calibration Laboratories as per ISO\/IEC 17025:2017\u201d <\/strong><\/p>\r\nThe ICAR-Central Rice Research Institute (ICAR-CRRI), Cuttack, organised a four-day training programme on \u201cGeneral Requirements for the Competence of Testing and Calibration Laboratories as per ISO\/IEC 17025:2017\u201d from 2nd to 5th November 2026. The programme aimed to enhance the knowledge, technical competence and professional skills of laboratory personnel in understanding and implementing the internationally recognised ISO\/IEC 17025:2017 standard. A total of 15 participants attended the programme. The training comprised eight technical sessions covering key aspects of ISO\/IEC 17025:2017, including laboratory quality management systems, technical requirements, personnel competence, equipment management, method validation and verification, documentation, standard operating procedures (SOPs), quality assurance and reliability of testing and calibration results. Special emphasis was given to the practical implementation of the standard, maintenance of records, measurement traceability and systematic quality control procedures. The interactive sessions provided participants with valuable insights into maintaining accuracy, consistency and technical validity in laboratory operations. The programme was conducted under the guidance of Dr Nabaneeta Basak, Course Director, with Dr Sagar Banarjee and Mr Gaban Mandi serving as Course Coordinators. An examination was also conducted at the end of the training to evaluate participants' understanding of the topics covered. The programme concluded with a valedictory function presided over by Dr G. A. K. Kumar, Director, ICAR-CRRI, Cuttack. Addressing the participants, Dr Kumar emphasized the importance of maintaining quality standards, strengthening laboratory capabilities and ensuring technical competence in testing and calibration activities. He distributed certificates to the participants and encouraged them to implement the knowledge gained in their respective laboratories. The training programme served as an effective platform for capacity building and professional development, contributing towards strengthening laboratory competence, ensuring reliable analytical results and promoting a culture of quality assurance and continuous improvement at ICAR-CRRI.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
