The programme was conducted by Dr. Milan Kumar [...]","protected":false,"raw":""},"author":1,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_en_post_content":"<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>ICAR-CRRI Organised Farmer Awareness Programme under Khet Bachao Abhiyan in Bhadrak <img src=\"https:\/\/icar-crri.in\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/new-2.gif\" width=\"25\" height=\"9\" border=\"0\" \/><\/strong><\/p>\r\nICAR\u2013Central Rice Research Institute (ICAR\u2013CRRI), Cuttack, organized a farmer awareness and educational programme under the Government of India's National Campaign on Khet Bachao Abhiyan at Susua and Katasahi villages near Rajualibindha, Bhadrak Block, Bhadrak district, Odisha.\r\nThe programme was conducted by Dr. Milan Kumar Lal, Scientist, Shri Subham S. Sarangi, Senior Research Fellow (SRF), and Shri Tapas Kumar Behera, Technical Officer, under EAP-359 (E-CHASI). Around 30 farmers from each village participated in the programme.\r\nDuring the programme, farmers were sensitised to the importance of balanced and judicious fertilizer application for maintaining soil health and enhancing crop productivity. They were encouraged to undertake regular soil testing and obtain Soil Health Cards for informed nutrient management. Awareness was also created about gradually reducing dependence on chemical fertilizers and adopting eco-friendly nutrient management practices through organic sources such as vermicompost and farmyard manure (FYM).\r\nThe participants were informed about the benefits of organic manures in improving soil structure, enhancing nutrient availability and maintaining long-term soil fertility.
