[...]","protected":false,"raw":""},"author":1,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_en_post_content":"<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Two-Day Training Programme (26-27.10.2026) on \u201cSOP for Paddy Straw Residue Management\u201d under OIIPCRA Project held at ICAR-CRRI, Kataka <img src=\"https:\/\/icar-crri.in\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/new-2.gif\" width=\"25\" height=\"9\" border=\"0\" \/><\/strong><\/p>\r\nA two-day training programme on \u201cSOP for Paddy Straw Residue Management\u201d under the OIIPCRA Project, supported by the Department of Agriculture &amp; Farmers\u2019 Empowerment, Government of Odisha, was organized by ICAR-CRRI, Kataka, during 26th -27th October 2026.\r\nThe programme aimed to provide practical training to farmers and Pani Panchayat members on in-situ and ex-situ paddy straw residue management techniques. The training covered key aspects such as microbial decomposition, compost preparation, crop residue recycling, and value addition through the production of biodegradable pulp plates. Hands-on demonstrations and detailed Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) were provided to strengthen participants\u2019 technical knowledge and promote the practical adoption of these sustainable technologies. The technical sessions were delivered by scientists and subject-matter experts from ICAR\u2013CRRI. A total of 21 male participants from two districts of Odisha participated in the programme.\r\nThe programme was formally inaugurated by Dr. Biswajit Mondal, Course Director, in the presence of Dr. P. Panneerselvam, Dr. Prakash Chandra Jena and Mr. Bhupendra Ghritalehri, Course Coordinators. The dignitaries highlighted the importance of scientific and sustainable management of paddy straw. Dr. Prakash Chandra Jena warmly welcomed the participants, while Dr. P. Panneerselvam, Principal Investigator of the project, elaborated on the objectives of the training programme and emphasized the pivotal role of trained Master Trainers in ensuring its effective implementation at the district level. The programme concluded with the presidential address by Dr. P. Panneerselvam, Principal Investigator of the project, who stressed the importance of adhering to the prescribed Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to improve soil health, enhance farmers\u2019 income and mitigate environmental pollution arising from the burning of crop residues.
